In her own words, Erin describes herself and her creative process; "I'm a nomad.  Hustler.  Artist.  Mathematician.  Organizer.  Activist.  Dreamer.  My work is a combination of my dreams and current events, mixed with a passion to instill hope, happiness and inspiration."   - Erin Yoshi

Erin Yoshi shares stories and emotional expression with delicate brush strokes depicting nature's raw textures, patterns, and motion.  The pieces contributed for this show encapsulate the character themes she's developed; blessing mandala crystals and owl feathers symbolizing loss of natural elements in the urban environment.  Her artwork reflects of the struggles within communities, and the paradigms of social injustice and class struggles. The artwork has become the talking point, but the projects she creates have expanded her art form.

Born in Los Angeles, CA. Erin Yoshi was inspired at an early age by her parents to create, ie; building a darkroom and developing photography at age 7. The stories of her family’s experiences during the Internment Camps of WWII, instilled in her a curiosity about politics of power, a theme in combination with her foundation as a community organizer that influences her art and projects.

A member of Few&Far for 3 years, Erin is also a member of Trust Your Struggle Collective (US), Con Ojos Indigenas (LA), and APC (Columbia).  Former Mural Conservancy of Los Angeles Interim Director, Erin is currently the Executive Director of the Estria Foundation, host of the international #WaterWrites Mural Series and Estria Battle; the only national graffiti competition featured in 6 U.S. cities.

Erin has left her imprint in murals around the world; Mexico, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Honduras, Columbia, Chile, the Philipines, and across the U.S.
